OK so this is the next phase of my painting where I learnt about glazing and worked at getting the areas I was unhappy with resolved. Realised that her nose was in completely the wrong place, like 2 cm too high so managed to reposition it. Still needs some more finessing. I started off with a reference for the colour palette and composition plus a lovely photo of a friend whose portrait I wanted to paint. However I have managed to end up painting the reference directly and not my friend so now know that I need to paint from one point of reference not multiples. Still have lots to do on the face before starting on her blouse.
Can't wait for next lesson - not this week but next.
