TRADE BEADS LOVE

I have a few strands of Czech glass beads and absolutely love them to pieces for their cool weight and dainty shapes. I was looking for some more on ebay and came across these Mali trade beads/wedding beads and nearly fainted with delight. The crazy love child of sugar pear drops, marbles and beach glass, I can't believe I have never come across them before, I feel a wee bit ignorant. Made in Bohemia from the 1800 -1900's they were used as collectible currency by trade merchants from Europe, replacing similar shaped clay beads made by Fulani women during their wedding rituals. They are so pretty I want to eat them!
