PANTRY LOVE

My granny had a pantry and a scullery in her kitchen and a separate laundry outside that always smelled like warm, clean clothes. The walk in pantry however was my favourite, with white shelves concealed behind white sliding wooden doors. My granny did a lot of preserving particularly marmalade and made her own fruit cakes at Christmas, so the nooks and crannies were stocked with bags of dried fruit, crystalised citrus peel and chocolate, the smell was heavenly. So in this my third post of visionary things, I dream of a pantry with shelves for bottles of things and baskets for vegetables and hooks to hang bunches of herbs and garlic, fat salamis and a little step ladder to reach it all.
