SYROCO LOVE

Weeeeeeeee! Look at what I am going to fetch from the post office just now! I am so excited pffffffffft this is me trying not to BURST!!!! I am sorry I know multiple exclamations are the devils henchmen but I am really excited. These are two examples of the moulding process developed in the 1890's by Adolph Holstein, owner of the Syracuse Ornamental Company. A combination of a wood powder compound and thermoset resin was poured into a mould made from a hand carved wooden sculpture, the finished casting then mimics the wood grain of the original perfectly. Thereafter they were painted or in this case gilded. The Syracuse Ornamental Company became Syroco Inc. in the 1930's.
