PARC LOVE

Our little family are loyalists when it comes to outings especially when it involves food. Every now and again though we bust out of our safety pants and try out the new place. Our hood has been lately blessed with two new eateries, right next to each other and a hop, skip and a jump from our home. We visited PARC CAFE on Saturday and do they make a mean Eggs Benedict, yessiree! The additional of the chopped capers on top launched the dish into the taste stratosphere and the bacon was so bacony. The potato and rosemary bread
( from next door THE GLENWOOD BAKERY ) was soft and pillowy and soaked up the egg yolk perfectly. You can have a peep at their menu, breakfast and light lunches here.

MY CHINA CERAMICS LOVE

One of the absolute best things to happen to me since I started my blog has been the opportunity to trade with other makers. I love how it has set a chain in motion where one trade leads to another. You will remember me being spoilt to pieces by SKERMUNKIL not once but twice!
Frances Kierman of MY CHINA CERAMICS saw the prints I had traded Marietjie and the result is a large box of splendidness that I collected late yesterday from the post office. I am still busy unwrapping my spoils but here is a sneak peek of some of them so long. I have chosen black and white pieces in a bird, geo diamond and proteas for the MESSY STUDIO but make sure you look at the full range which has beautiful jewel bright colours, lovely shapes and delightful drawings. The glazed ceramic has weight and lightness all at the same time.

One of my lovelies, I think it was you Miss Debdeb, sent me a link to YOSHIMA TSUCHIYA's incredible work a while ago. Take the time to have a look at his website, particularly the MAKING so that you can see how a lump of rough hewn wood is transformed into these delicately hued sylvan creatures. The detail is otherwordly. Sigh.

VOGUE PARIS APRIL LOVE

Saw the April Issue of French VOGUE in the CNA yesterday, it has the most awesome shoot of contemporary Peruvian inspired fashion by MARIO TESTINO. The models are Isabeli Fontana & Aymeline Valade. I love the vibrant colours, embroidery and insane backdrops. Mario is so the man!

 

LONG FLAT LOVE

My amazing friend Justine is selling her weekender in Oz, 8 LONG FLAT MAJORS CREEK. This lassie is a splendid stylist, curator and maker of objects and should absolutely publish a book because her eye for creating pictures of both humans and spaces is magnificent. Another property that I would spin gold from straw for! Put it in a crate and send it this way, please and thank you.
