MILK GLASS LOVE

I have been obsessing over Milk Glass for a while now, it somehow was tangled up in my white ceramics phase that started mid way through last year and has now morphed into a fully fledged stalkerness. Originally called Opal Glass and made in Venice in the 16th century, the milky colour is achieved through the addition of bone ash or tin oxide. My favourites are the Fenton 'hobnail' pieces, apothecary and candy jars, brings out the 1950's bride in me.

Did some background info checking yesterday and am now completely ruined! I knew milk glass came in other colours but did not realise that one of those colours is my most absolute favourite 'Mary' blue. I am beside myself! Thanks to the exquisite pinboard of VANESSA for some of the images, others are from Etsy but I was too excited to keep track. I so desire a Westmoreland bunny in white, a Fenton bunny in blue and don't get me started on the chickens. It's my birthday in April you know.
